I don't usually review movies on here, but Mom Central offered me tickets to see "Life as We Know It" and a gift certificate, if I'd review it. I needed a night out (sans boys), plus we all know I'm a bit of a whore for free stuff, so here we are.
I'll admit it, I'm a bit of a snob and this is not the type of movie I'd normally see in the theater. I'd probably eventually see it, but most likely about a year after it came out on DVD and I'd borrow it from the library. So I wasn't really expecting much, but I love going to movies by myself, so I was definitely looking forward to it.
However, I was really pleasantly surprised by the movie. If you're a parent, you will definitely find it funny. I won't give the plot away, but I did not like the romantic bit of the movie. I thought Katherine Heigl's character should have made her other choice--but whatever. The trials of parents of babies/toddlers were pretty spot on and definitely funny. All in all, the movie was really entertaining, and I'd especially recommend it for parents. But Heigl/Duhamel fans will like it too.
Now if Warner could have just put a muzzle on the guy sitting next to me. This guy--in a big ol' Barry White voice--repeated just about everything the characters said and then commented on it. I'm surprised he wasn't hoarse by the end of the film. But for you lucky people, he's seen it, so hopefully he won't sit next to you when you do.
About “Life as We Know It”:
After a disastrous first date, the only thing Holly, an up and coming caterer, and Eric, a network sports director, have in common is their dislike for each other and their love for their goddaughter Sophie. But when they suddenly become all Sophie has in the world, Holly and Eric are forced to put their differences aside and juggle career ambitions and competing social calendars to find some common ground while living under one roof. Check out the trailer here.
I attended a complimentary screening of this movie to facilitate my review and received a gift card from Mom Central as a thank you for my time. Thanks, Mom Central!

I bought this movie for my wife one day. I kind of thought it would be just another lame chick flick but I actually really enjoyed it. Makes you kinda think about who you would have watch your kids should anything ever happen to both parents.
