It's All About the Music Today

Wheee! I just bought my Pavement tickets. Now I can right another old regret.

In addition, I was alerted that one of my favorite bands of the nineties, Th' Faith Healers reformed (apparently in 2006!) and played some dates last year. Now if only I could see them....

The Pavement Reunion is Happening!

I think this is old news (from Sept.), but Pavement is really reuniting. There are 3 bands that I've always regretted not seeing back in the 80s: The Pixies, Pavement, and Bad Brains. I've seen the first several times now (although not going to the Denver shows this week). Now hopefully, I'll have my chance to see Pavement. So far, the only date announced that I can see is Sept. 2010 in Seattle. Anybody up for a trip to Seattle? Think I can take the kids to the show?

The World is Slightly Less Cool Today

I am so very, very sad that Lux Interior, the lead singer of The Cramps died yesterday from an existing heart condition. He was 62.

The Cramps are my all-time favorite live band and have brought me much joy over the years. I will miss Lux and his penis.

RIP, Lux. Thanks for the music.

Outlet

Go here and listen to the song "Of Roses and of Wine." Back in the 90s, I recorded duet of the song with the guy who is singing. I wish I had it digitally to post. I may have an old cassette somewhere. It was just a simple 4-track recording with him playing guitar and doing the main singing, with me doing the harmonies/chorus with him.

Back then we were both in bands that played out together. I miss having a creative outlet like that. I know B does too. We often talk about doing some recordings at home, but it never seems to happen. I guess I should stop whining and get going, huh?

This Makes Me So Happy!

Pavement may reunite.

Between the nutty holidays, being as ill as I've ever been, and M's upcoming surgery, I haven't been posting (obviously). I promise to resume as soon as life gets back to some semblance of normalcy.

Joe Strummer

We watched "The Future is Unwritten" the documentary about Joe Strummer last night. It was well done and brought back fond memories of my youth (although I was a little kid when The Clash was at its best).

I had forgotten just how hot Joe was! When I think of him, I think of a cool middle aged punk rock guy, but not an object of lust. However, when he was young, YEOW! Check it out:

My Bloody Valentine in SF

So apparently here is what I missed visually, since I couldn't see a damn thing.

This is what I mainly saw. Kind of explains why it was so loud, huh?
