Happy Mothers Day!

Rant on:
Just found out that Dr. R. wants to move Miles' surgery up 3 days. That sounds like no big deal, but it means we totally have to redo our travel plans--flights, hotels, rental car, babysitting for Jack, etc. I really do not need that stress right now. Also, I've been putting off stressing about the surgery, but now it's in full swing.

I have an appointment with my endocrinologist this afternoon. I hope to God that my thyroid levels are high; otherwise I don't know what the hell is wrong with me. I'm not sleeping, my hands are shaking like a mofo, and I'm gritting my teeth. Oh, yeah, I guess it could be stress.

Rant off:
Had a great weekend! Saturday was a day of shopping. My mom came down to join in. First we went and picked out a big rock for my front yard. They were going to charge $167 to deliver what turned out to be a $12 rock! (I can't believe how cheap it ended up being: it's about 300 lbs), so instead we had my parents bring their truck on Sunday to pick it up. Then we went plant shopping. I got some gorgeous perennials for the front yard. Now if I can keep them alive. I also got some tomato plants for a little garden in the back and a clematis for the fence. Pretty! I have such a black thumb, but I hope I can do a good job with these.

Then we went to the Bare Minerals store on the 16th Street Mall and spent my birthday gift certificates and money. Such a girly day! Flowers and make up.

Sunday I got to sleep in until 10 am (!). Can't remember the last day I did that. Then I spent the afternoon planting all my new plants above, plus some herbs my mom brought me and some flower seeds I had around. Went to Coldstone Creamery and got my free Mothers Day ice cream (yummy)! And made dinner for the family: my parents, sis, BIL, and niece came. We barbequed and I made a yummy berry cake.

For Mothers Day I got the stuff that Miles gave me last week at the tea party: the plant in the decorated pot, the card, and the paper corsage. Then he and Jack made me more cards and B gave me a bottle of Patron tequila. How many mother's do you know that get hardcore booze for Mothers Day? LOLOL. Am I white trash?
