Damn PMS

I just feel sad today. Usually I'm bitchy, but today it's sad. I guess I'm just really stressed about the upcoming surgery. We leave for LA one week from today! I actually got tears in my eyes when someone asked about the trip. I also have a headache to beat the band.

Okay, enough of the pity party. This weekend we're having a garage sale. I can NOT believe how much CRAP we have! And we had one just before we moved a couple of years ago. How have we gained so much? Oh yeah: kids. But truthfully it's not entirely kid stuff. I just hope we make some much needed cash for our trip.

I haven't posted about books in awhile. I recently read "Tales of a Punk Rock Nothing," continuing on with my punk rock youth nostalgia reading series. It was okay, but didn't really excite me. It reminded me of the good old days of thinking you could change the world, though. Now I'm a lot more cynical.

I also read the latest Marian Keyes, "Anybody Out There?" It was nice to see her do something a little different, but it's a sad book, which I don't really need right now (I NEED FLUFF, DAMMIT!). She still has her usual wit, though.

I'm currently reading "The Nasty Bits" by Anthony Bourdain. I love him and think he has just about the greatest job in the world: chef/gourmand/ traveller/tv personality/writer. Even though it sounds like hard work, it sounds like so much fun! I absolutely adore his show on the Travel Channel, "No Reservations," and this book has a lot of writing about his travels on that show. Even if you don't normally like travel shows, check this one out. It is incredibly entertaining!
