Party Weekend

Funny to think that a few years ago that blog title would have meant something much different. Now it means that we had a really busy weekend with two birthday parties and a baby shower. PAAAAAAR-TAY! Miles (and Brian and me) are just exhausted after the weekend. I had such a hard time getting out of bed for work this morning--I really needed a day to recover.

Saturday, Miles was invited to two birthday parties--one at 11 am and one at 2 pm. The first was for the daughter of some friends, that was turning 4. We were all invited to this one. She had a princess and pirate party. All the girls dressed up like princesses and all the boys dressed up like pirates. It was so damn cute! Miles wore a pirate hat and had a hook (he wouldn't wear the ear ring or eye patch). Jack wore a red pirate "do rag" (not sure what to call it, but it came from a cheap pirate costume). He wouldn't wear any of the other costume parts either. But they were still adorable. Miles spent most of the party riding Georgia's (the birthday girl) tricycle around, and Jack ran around carrying two balls. Such party animals, my boys.

The second party, just Miles and I went to. It was at a place called Pump It Up, "The Inflatable Party Zone." Miles had a blast! It's kind of like a big warehouse room filled with giant inflatable slides, bouncies, etc. He played so hard that he was covered in sweat. I'd love to have a party there for the boys someday (when they're a little older). We might be able to do something nice like that sometime, since we'll probably do combined birthday parties.

Yesterday, I hosted a baby shower for my sister. A lot of work, but it turned out really nice. I wouldn't say it was "fun," because I didn't really know any of the people, other than my mom and sister in law. It was all my sister's husband's family and a few of her friends. But it felt really good to do something nice for her, and it turned out really well.

While I held the party, the boys went to Day Out with Thomas with dad and grandpa. So another exhausting day for Miles. I hear he had a melt down in the souvenir area--glad I missed it. Jack was good, but he has another cold--dammit!
