Hothead
Okay, I was wrong yesterday, it wasn't 100--it was 105 degrees!!! I hate using up blogspace to talk about the weather, but DAMN, that is notable. Today it's only 103. That means we get to go out to dinner, though. So some good things come of it.
Sometimes electronic communication really sucks. Yesterday, I thought a friend was "dissing" me. I asked her about it and it turns out, she meant nothing by it. So, if I ever write anything that offends you here, ask me about it first, before you assume I'm being offensive.
Today I was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid, which really kind of sucks. Here is the list of symptoms, according to some internet site:
  • Palpitations--So that's what I've been experiencing!
  • Heat intolerance--I thought it was just a left-over from pregnancy
  • Nervousness--That's just my normal state of being, even without hyperthyroidism
  • Insomnia--Again, I thought it wa a left-over from pregnancy
  • Breathlessness--Sometimes, I guess
  • Increased bowel movements--Nope
  • Light or absent menstrual periods--Nope
  • Fatigue--Yes, but I'm the working mom of a 3-year old and a 1-year old. What do you expect?
  • Fast heart rate--Mine's always been a little fast
  • Trembling hands--YES!!! That's why I went to the dr. in the first place. Mine tremble like I've got Parkinson's or something. Now the question is: is the trembling from the hyperthyroidism or from "benign tremor," an inherited condition (and my Dad and Grandma have it)
  • Weight loss--OMG, I WISH!!!! My biggest fear now, is that I'm going to gain weight when they "fix" this
  • Muscle weakness--I don't think so
  • Warm moist skin--???
  • Hair loss--Who could tell? I've got so much damn hair
  • Staring gaze--I don't know, you tell me.

So anyways, I have to go see an endocrinoligist, and of course they can't see me until the end of the month. What if I get a goiter?!? ACK!!!!

I really should write about my kids. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow. BTW, Brian forgot to bring the camera to the pool yesterday, so no videos of my fat whale ass doing the "Hokey Pokey." Damn.
